Privacy Policy – Marching Dogs

Last updated: June 16, 2025

Introduction

Marching Dogs (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit marchingdogs.com or use our services and applications (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, notify you through the Site or other channels. Please review this Policy periodically.

What We Collect

  • Information you provide: account and contact details, shipping/billing info, order history, support messages.
  • Automatic data: device/usage info, IP address, cookie identifiers, and approximate location.
  • From service providers/partners: payment confirmation, ecommerce/fulfillment details necessary to complete orders and operate the Services.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide and improve the Services, process orders and payments, personalize experiences, communicate with you, secure our systems, prevent fraud, comply with law, and enforce terms. Marketing messages are sent only with your consent and can be opted out of at any time.

Local-First Applications & Cloud Backups

For any applications we develop, we collect the minimum data necessary and default to local-first processing. We do not retain your application data on Marching Dogs servers. If a feature supports sync/backup, you will have an explicit opt-in to use a cloud backup with a provider you choose; any backup data is stored only with that provider, under their terms. You can enable/disable backups in the app.

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for core functionality (e.g., cart, session), performance, security, and to understand aggregate usage. You can manage cookies in your browser and, where available, through our cookie controls.

Information Security (New, operationalized)

We maintain a documented Information Security Policy that is operationalized to identify, mitigate, and monitor information-security risks relevant to our business, including physical security where applicable. Controls include least-privilege access and MFA, encryption in transit and at rest (for systems we control), secure development and vulnerability management, vendor risk management, logging/monitoring, incident response, business continuity/backup practices, and staff training. The policy is reviewed at least annually and after material changes, with records of reviews and control testing retained.

How We Disclose Information

We share information with trusted service providers (e.g., hosting, ecommerce platforms, payments, shipping, support, analytics) under contracts that limit use to our instructions and require safeguards. We may disclose information to comply with law, protect rights/safety, or in a corporate transaction. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Where feasible, we minimize, de-identify, or aggregate data.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information; withdraw consent; object to or restrict processing; opt out of targeted advertising, “sale,” or “sharing”; and limit use of sensitive data. To exercise rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your request as required by law.

International Transfers

If personal information is transferred across borders, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual protections) consistent with applicable law.

Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Third-Party Sites & Services

Our Services may link to or integrate with third-party sites/services. Their privacy practices govern those interactions.
